How candid works for recruiters

Candidates lead with a pitch of up to 60 seconds. Their resume, if they've added one, sits one tap behind it.

As candid opens to employers, you'll be able to:

  • watch a feed of pitches, and search candidates by name, school or target role
  • save a pitch in one tap and find it later in your saved list
  • message a candidate directly
  • post a role, get applications that each come with a pitch, and mark each applicant Pass, Shortlist or Offer

What candidates see

Candidates see where they stand with you. When you save a pitch, they see your company's name and logo. When you open their application, it shows on their list as Viewed. After that it shows Shortlisted or Offer, or Closed if you pass.

Why the pitch comes before the resume

AI is filtering resumes that AI wrote. When you screen for entry-level roles, they can read alike, and a short work history says little about the person.

A pitch lets you hear candidates say it themselves: what they lead with, and how they explain it in their own voice. The resume is still there when you want a second look.

Who you will meet

Students and new graduates looking for internships and first jobs. candid is opening campus by campus, starting with student clubs. How candid opens through student clubs.

So far, students join our early list with a school email ending in .edu, which they confirm. Each candidate records their own pitch, in their own words. What students record.

How early access works

The first student pitches go to a small group of employers, chosen for fit. To ask for a place:

  • Tell us your company, your name and your work email. You can also tell us whether you hire interns, new graduates or both.
  • Use your company address. Personal mailboxes such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and iCloud aren't accepted.
  • Confirm your address from the link we email you. It works for 48 hours. If it runs out, sign up again and we'll send a new one.
  • A person looks at each request, and we'll be in touch.
  • We use your details only to contact you about candid's launch.

The rules candid keeps

These rules hold for every employer. They come from the promises we make to students. Read our promises.

  • Nobody can pay to be seen first. The order you see pitches in isn't for sale.
  • Candidates speak for themselves, in their own words, and can re-record until the pitch says what they mean.
  • We will never sell student data.
